Hooksett, New Hampshire

Every Business Deserves a Heck of a Website.

Heck of a Website is a web design studio in Hooksett, New Hampshire, founded and led by Clement Heck. This page is the story of why the studio exists, how we work, what we believe a small-business website owes its owner, and where to find us in person.

Strategy-led design. No lock-in. Built to scale.

Chapter 01 · The Person

The Person You'd Actually Be Hiring.

No account managers, no handoffs. The person on the intro call is the person who designs and builds the site.

I'm Clement Heck, founder and owner. On paper, this is Heck Design Group LLC, doing business as Heck of a Website. In practice, it's me at the design desk in our Hooksett, New Hampshire studio, building websites for small businesses that need them to do real work: load fast, rank in Google, and turn visitors into customers.

If we work together, you work with me. There's no account manager between you and the person who designs and codes your site. The person on the intro call is the person who builds the thing. And when you write, a real person replies within one business day.

This studio's roots run through the Midwest: years of building for businesses in Wichita, Omaha, and across the plains before setting up shop in New Hampshire. Today we work with clients nationwide, as far south as Tampa. Video consultations, shared project boards, and a client portal keep remote projects moving, but home base is the Hooksett studio, and the door is open.

Chapter 02 · The Problem

Why This Studio Exists.

Before it ever describes us, the review below describes a year-long website project that never shipped. Everything about how this studio runs is built to be the opposite of that first half.

“After hiring someone else to redesign my website and waiting over a year with no finished product, I decided to start over. From the moment I began working with Clement, it was like night and day. Smooth, stress-free, honest.”

We're built to be the opposite of that experience. Most websites are completed within 14 days from project kickoff. And when a project involves custom functionality that genuinely takes longer, we say so at the initial consultation, not month eleven. No lock-in, no handoffs: you deal with the builder directly from the first call to launch day.

The playbook holds whether the client is around the corner or three states away. Buffalo Ridge Fence, a fence company in Omaha, had their rebuild live in two weeks and grew their quote requests +250% in the first quarter. Avid Auto Detailing, a detailing studio here in New Hampshire, wanted fewer phone calls and more confirmed bookings. We built the website and the quote engine that made it happen.

The First Fourteen Days
  1. Day 1

    Kickoff Call

Scope, pages, and what the site needs to do — settled before we hang up.

  2. Design Direction

Lands in your client portal for feedback. No email chains.

  3. Build & Revisions

You watch tasks move on the shared board while the site is coded.

  4. Day 14

    Launch Window

Most builds complete inside fourteen days; the exceptions are named at the consult.

The window is the one we publish in the FAQ: most websites are completed within 14 days of kickoff.

Chapter 03 · The Beliefs

What We Owe Every Client.

Not slogans. Promises, each one already published somewhere on this site.

  1. 01
    Place

A Real Door You Can Knock On.

We work out of a real studio at 1368 Hooksett Rd, Unit 2, by appointment and walk-ins welcome. Vetting us can mean literally walking through the front door.

  2. 02
    People

    The Builder Answers the Phone.

No account-manager buffer. You talk directly with the person who builds your site, and when you write, a real person replies within one business day.

  3. 03
    Proof

    Measured, Not Estimated.

When we publish a result, it carries its source: ROI measured post-launch, search numbers cited to Google Search Console in the case-study footnotes. If we can't source it, we don't say it.

  4. 04
    Promise

    Fourteen Days Means Fourteen Days.

Most websites are completed within 14 days from project kickoff. When a build is more complex than that, we say so before we start, not after.

None of these are aspirations. Each is published elsewhere on this site: the reply-time promise on the contact page, the 14-day window in the FAQ, the sources under every case-study number.
Chapter 04 · The Shop

The Shop Behind the Shop.

One studio in Hooksett runs more than websites. These are the working arms of the operation — all under one roof off Route 3, all in production today.

Chapter 05 · The Record

What an Engagement Looks Like From the Inside.

The numbers above are the public record. Here's the part you can only get by working with us: how a project actually runs from kickoff call to launch day.

An engagement starts with a video call with Clement, or a plain phone call if you'd rather. Bring a rough idea, a competitor you envy, or just a problem; the call ends with structure: what the site needs to do, what it should say, and what it will take to build.

From kickoff to launch you have full visibility. Every project runs through our client portal and shared project boards, so you can see what's in progress without sending a “just checking in” email. Flagship builds are fully custom-coded on React and TypeScript; when a client needs to manage lots of content in a familiar editor, we build WordPress on hand-coded custom themes, never recycled templates.

Launch isn't a handoff cliff, either. Every site we build can run on our fully managed hosting, with daily backups, uptime monitoring, security monitoring, SSL management, and priority support. The person who built your site is also the person keeping it online.

Field Notes

Texture from inside real engagements, not a process diagram.

  • Kickoff calls run on Zoom or a plain phone call, your pick, with instant calendar confirmation and no email tag.
  • You watch the build happen in the client portal: tasks, files, and feedback in one place. The FAQ walks through the whole process.
  • Flagship builds are fully custom-coded, no templates, no page builders. The web design page shows what that buys you.
  • When a build needs more than pages (quote engines, booking flows, client portals), it crosses into custom software, which we also build in-house.
  • Every launch includes on-page SEO setup; owners who want to compete for rankings add our SEO services.

The Next Chapter

That's Our Story. The Next Chapter Is Yours.

Thirty minutes with the person who'll actually build your site. You'll leave with a real plan (pages, timeline, and budget range) whether or not we end up working together.

…he actually cares and takes the time to think through things instead of just doing the bare minimum. Solid guy, easy to work with…
