One Question, Half the AI Visibility
Vorenza Rentals answers a question young drivers ask: can you rent a car at 18 in New Hampshire? That one guide carries 47% of the site’s AI Overview and AI Mode impressions, and in July 61% of its own search impressions happened inside an AI answer. The site’s AI growth trails the rest of our client book; concentration is the lesson.

Where a small rental operator’s AI-answer visibility lives, read from Google’s own report.
Vorenza Rentals, the Manchester and Derry operator whose direct-booking site is in our original case study, rents to drivers from 18. On April 5, 2026 the site published a guide to exactly that question, written the way an answer engine reads: the question as the title, a boxed short answer near the top (“Yes, you can rent a car at 18 in New Hampshire”), the follow-up questions as headings, and four FAQ answers mirrored in FAQPage JSON-LD.
Google’s Generative AI report, which begins May 18, 2026[1], shows the result. The guide carries 3,330 of the site’s 7,019 AI Overview and AI Mode impressions: 47% from one page. In July, 61% of its own impressions happened inside an AI answer, and two of every three in its peak weeks. The site’s AI growth (2.3×) trails the rest of our client book (3.18×), so this is not a growth story. It is a study of where AI visibility concentrates, and how little of a site it takes.
- The homepage holds 80.5% of the site’s search impressions, and only 1.6% of them happen inside an AI answer.
- Young drivers ask a yes-or-no question whose local answer is “yes”, and that answer only exists in search if someone writes it down plainly.
- Google says AI features need no special optimization, so the page had to be the clearest answer on the web, not a markup trick.
- An answer shown inside an AI Overview can satisfy the searcher without a click (see Caveats).
- Wrote the question as the page: question-led title, a boxed short answer near the top, and the follow-ups (cost, credit cards, each New Hampshire college) as headings[3].
- Mirrored the four FAQ questions and answers in FAQPage JSON-LD that matches the visible FAQ.
- Moved the answer into the snippet: the meta description opens with the question and its answer.
- Gave rideshare drivers their own answer page, and measured every page by AI share.
- 1Can you rent a car at 18 in New Hampshire?
- 2Do I need a credit card to rent a car at 18?
- 3How much extra do young drivers pay for car rental?
- 4Which NH rental companies accept 18 year old drivers?
Visible on the page and in its FAQPage JSON-LD since launch (commit d6ec302). The first answer opens with the word “Yes”.
Two of Every Three Impressions, Inside the Answer
The guide’s search impressions week by week (muted), with the part of them that happened inside an AI Overview or AI Mode answer (accent). Where the two lines nearly meet, the answer was the appearance.

Growth Trailed the Book. Concentration Did Not.
Google expanded AI Overviews and AI Mode during these five months and every site we measure gained. Against that expansion, this site’s AI growth was below average. Its share of visibility inside AI answers still rose, and one page carried almost half of it.

47.4% of them from the rent-at-18 guide. No clicks, positions or queries exist in this report yet.
Every citation so far went to question-led blog articles: rental insurance in New Hampshire (11), tolls and E-ZPass (4), replacement rentals (2).
3.9% of all 3,922 sessions, engaged at 76.5% against a 67.7% site average. Gemini sent 2, Copilot 1.

A Second Question Page
Rideshare-driver rentals get their own page: weekly rates, debit cards accepted, delivery (bfa8b81).
The guide predates Google’s AI report (launched April 5; the report begins May 18), so the report holds a trajectory for it, not a before-and-after.
What Could Be Confounding These Numbers
Six things that limit what these figures can say:
- 1Growth trailed the baseline. Google expanded AI answers mid-window and every property we measure gained (2.58× across the account). This site grew 2.3×, below the rest of our client book. We make no growth claim here.
- 2
- 3No queries, two features in one number. Google’s report has no query dimension and combines AI Overviews with AI Mode[1], so it cannot say which phrasings showed the guide or where.
- 4Seasonality. Young-driver rentals peak with graduations, moves and summer jobs. July’s 61% is partly the calendar; the share stayed between 26% and 41% in every later month.
- 5Concentration cuts both ways. Half the site’s AI visibility rests on one page. A better answer elsewhere could move it, which is why the next work is more answer pages, not more of this one.
- 6Bing is fifteen days old here. Bing’s AI Performance report holds this site from October 2 only, and its query sample is empty so far[4].
How We Measure
AI-answer impressions are Google’s count of how many times links to the site were shown inside a generative AI feature on Google Search, AI Overviews and AI Mode combined[1]. Google counts them inside standard Web impressions too, so AI share (AI impressions divided by all impressions for the same page and dates) is the fraction of a page’s search visibility that happened inside an AI answer[2].
Growth compares the report’s first 28 days (May 18 – Jun 14) with its last 28 (Sep 19 – Oct 16); baselines sum the same windows across our account. Page-level figures come from the reports filtered to the guide’s exact URL. GA4 sessions are those whose source contains an assistant’s name; assistants that strip referrers are undercounted, so these are floors.
| Source | What it provides | Window |
|---|---|---|
| Search Console: Generative AI | AI Overview and AI Mode impressions by page and day; page-filtered for the guide | May 18 – Oct 16, 2026 |
| Search Console: Performance | Standard Web impressions, clicks and position, same pages and dates | May 18 – Oct 16, 2026 |
| Bing AI Performance | Citations and cited pages (early read) | Oct 2 – 16, 2026 |
| Google Analytics 4 | Sessions by source / medium from AI assistants, with engagement | May 18 – Oct 16, 2026 |
| Client repository | Dated commits for every change in the timeline | Continuous |
What We’re Going After Next
- More one-answer questions. Insurance, tolls and E-ZPass, foreign licenses, debit cards: Bing’s first citations already went to question-led articles. Each gets the rent-at-18 treatment.
- City pages that answer. The five city pages already run a 10.4% AI rate, six times the homepage’s. Each can answer its own local questions about delivery and pickup.
- Appearance to booking. ChatGPT sent 153 sessions engaging at 76.5%. Next is tracking which AI-referred visits start a booking.
